Who We Are
Elder Team
Josh Price | Pastor
Pastor Josh and his wife, Tiffany, have three sons—Brayden, Judah, and Micah—and have called the Chesterfield area home since 2000.
In 2012, Josh founded Vertical Church, a thriving, multiplying community of faith in Richmond’s West End. After faithfully leading that congregation for the past fourteen years, he is once again stepping out in faith to help establish another kingdom outpost in the Greater Richmond area.
Josh is deeply passionate about preaching God’s Word, equipping future pastors, and collaborating with fellow leaders to plant more churches that glorify Christ. On his day off, you’ll likely find him reading a great book, cheering on his sons at the ball field, or hitting the gym.
Eric Lewellen | Pastor
Pastor Eric and his wife, Melanie, have two sons, Titus and James. Their family also includes a lively Labrador Retriever named Gus, two cats (a testament to Eric’s love for Melanie), and six chickens—all cleverly named after coffee-themed favorites.
In 2021, the family relocated from Fresno, California, to Richmond, Virginia, where Eric had been serving in pastoral ministry. He was ordained in 2024 at their current church, Vertical, and will be helping to plant Covenant Church in January 2026.
Eric is passionate about fostering authentic, biblical community through small groups, diving deep into the beauty of God’s Word, and helping plant healthy churches to further the Kingdom.
In his free time, you can find him outside in the garden—taming weeds and chickens—hiking with his family, or turning everyday tasks into lighthearted competitions.
What is a biblical Elder?
The office of elder is held by men who are entrusted with the care and spiritual nourishment of the flock of Jesus Christ. Their primary responsibilities include providing spiritual leadership and protection through the faithful teaching of God’s Word, consistent prayer, and the edification of the church. Elders are called to live godly lives and are held to a high standard of character and accountability. (Acts 20:28; 1Peter 5:2-3; Hebrews 13:17)
